Yue-Sai Kan Featured in WWD


China Institute trustees Yue-Sai Kan, the Emmy-winning television host and producer, and Mei He, a recipient of the Eisenhower Foundation International Leadership Award, helped out as emcees. Stuffed panda bears were placed in the bamboo decor, thanks to the evening’s sponsor, Hainan Airlines, which was also celebrating the launch of its Panda Express routes to Chengdu and Chongqing.



Yue-Sai Kan wins Ban Ki-moon award for women


Yue-Sai Kan, a famous Chinese-American entrepreneur and Emmy-winning television producer, received a special woman's award presented by former UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon in New York on Friday. Yue-Sai Kan won the Ban Ki-moon Social Enterpreneurship Award along with two other women. Gloria Steinem won the Ban Ki-moon Women's Empowerment Award, while Eva Haller won the Ban Ki-moon Mentorship Award.

Yue-Sai Kan, who is the author Stewart Lee Beck's friend,hosted the book launching party for him and said," This is the history book for people that didn't know they love history. The authors both entertain and inform with each turn of the page, to leave us with a lighthearted appreciation for the supreme depth of Chinese civilization.
