To celebrate the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, sohu.com, one of the biggest Chinese portal sites, published a list of 60 people and phenomena that define pivotal changes in fashion and trend in the People's Republic over the past 60 years.


Yue-Sai was chosen for "changing the face of China, one lipstick at a time". She and her cosmetics line broke many taboos in China and forever changed the concept of beauty and style amongst the Chinese. Other honorees include China's first Rock n' Roll star Cui Jian, Maggie Cheung's cheongsam in "In the Mood for Love" and iconic writers Zhang Ailing, Qiong Yao and San Mao.
